The Marketing & Processing Sector comprises the Apex and Primary Marketing, Agro-processing, Rice Mill & other Agro-processing, Cold Storage and Horticulture Co-operative Societies and also includes creation of infrastructure for marketing of agricultural produces and allied commodities through construction / repair / renovation / technological upgradation of cold storages, construction/ repair / renovation / completion of rural and main  godowns, setting up of mini cold storages for preservation of fruits and vegetables, establishment  Co-operative Farmers’ Service Centres, distribution of agricultural inputs like fertilizer, seeds, plant protection chemicals, fodders etc., implementation of different Government schemes like procurement of jute or paddy or potato through State level Co-operative Societies, setting up of jute baling presses, Capital Investment Subsidy Schemes percolated by the Government of India through NCDC or NHB and allied activities. The Sector also includes special Schemes for the agriculture and rural development like Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and Jute Technology Mission (JTM).
